What is Big Data?

NASA in 1997, first coined the term, indicating that it was then impossible to be stored on a hard drive. In 2011, McKinsey defined Big Data as: "datasets whose size is beyond the ability of typical database software tools to capture, store, manage, and analyze," Imagine then, how difficult it has been to analyse this volume of data?
